The World Chess Set (Home Edition with Walnut Board and Black and White Squares) combines the official Championship design with a compact format suitable for home use. It preserves the proportions and aesthetic of the World Chess Championship set, scaled down by about 20 percent to fit comfortably on a dining or coffee table.
The pieces, designed in collaboration with Vladimir Kramnik and Magnus Carlsen, are handcrafted from boxwood with felted bases and include a 79 mm (3 inch) King and two additional Queens for pawn promotion.
The board is made from walnut-veneered MDF with sharply defined black and white squares. Measuring 45 x 45 cm, it features 4.5 cm squares and a 4.5 cm border, with the World Chess hexagon silk-printed on both sides. The contrasting finish gives it a clean, balanced appearance that suits both casual play and display.
