The Ferrer Mahogany Standard Chess Set with indices is a classic, well balanced set designed for regular play and instructional use.
The Sapelly Standard chessboard is made from high quality wood with a smooth, refined finish. The deep mahogany dark squares contrast cleanly with the lighter sycamore squares, creating a visually clear and well-defined playing surface. The addition of coordinates around the board edge makes it particularly well suited to study, teaching and competitive play, while still retaining a traditional look.
The board is paired with the Mahogany Ferrer Standard chess pieces. Made from boxwood, the pieces are carefully shaped and lead weighted at the base, giving good stability and a comfortable feel during play. Two extra Queens are also included.
The full set is presented in a smart double case with a magnetic closure, keeping the board and pieces protected while remaining compact and easy to store between games.
