Description

An expansion for the Masters replica Mehen board to enable 6 players to enjoy the game.

The 3rd dynasty ancient Egyptian tomb of Hesy-Re featured a wall of 3 ancient Egyptian games – Senet, Mehen and Men. The set of pieces for Mehen shows 3 lions, 3 lionesses and 6 sets of 6 marbles. Another find on the causeway of the funeral complex of Sahure depicts 6 players at a Mehen board. So it seems possible but not certain that the game could be played with 6 players, probably in two teams of three. Our expansion pack allows you to add a lion, a lioness and 12 extra coloured wooden cubes so that you can try out the 6 player version enjoyed by pharaohs Hesy-Re and Sahure.

Important: This is an expansion set – to use it, you must first own the base game for 4 players.

The replica lion pieces are based on those found in the tombs of Djet and Djer by Flinders Petrie. They are made from resin with felted bottoms.
