A quality, Japanese-made Shogi set comprising a 3cm thick Shin Kaya board and wooden Shogi pieces.
By Kurokigoishiten of Japan, the table Shogi board is crafted from Shin Kaya wood and made by joining 2 – 3 pieces of solid wood together, with barely noticeable joins. The board has a good weight, is a nice size and thickness for play and is beautifully finished with the wood grain predominantly featured.
The quality Shogi pieces are made from Kaba wood and feature clear, stamped markings in red and black. They are presented in a charming wooden storage box. Again crafted by Kurokigoishiten, they are far superior to the plastic pieces found in more common Shogi sets.
