Rules of French Bar Billiards
These are the rules for French Bar Billiards played on a table with one less hole than an English Bar Billiards table. We also have standard British Bar Billiards rules.

A French Bar Billiards table is around 6 x 3 feet and is similar in construction to a small Billiards table.
Instead of pockets, holes are sunk into the table; 5 in a row across the far end of the table and three set in a triangle pattern in the rear half of the table. A skittle is set up on a spot roughly in the centre of the table. If there are 3 skittles, the other two are set up behind either side of the 100 hole in a triangular formation.
The holes are the rear are worth 10, 20, 30, 20 and 10 points respectively. The hole in the centre is worth 100 points and the holes to either side in the centre are worth 50 points each.
When a ball falls into a hole, it rolls back to the front of the table in the appropriate scoring channel.
The first ball to be struck is placed on the near spot in front of the player. The red ball is on the 2nd spot behind the white ball.
To begin the game, start the clock.
The player takes a white ball from the front of the table to play. If the rack is empty, the player takes the white ball nearest to him on the table. The ball is placed on the nearest spot and is struck up the table. The cue ball must hit at least one ball otherwise the score for that break is nullified.
Points are added according to the value of the hole that the balls fall into during the game. The red ball counts double points and when it is potted, the player must take it from the front of the table put it on the starting spot and play it like any other ball.
End of the game
After the clock time is up, any points scored by white balls thereafter are doubled and points scored by the red ball are tripled instead of doubled.
When there is only one ball left, it must be played off a cushion; otherwise it cannot score. The last ball counts triple the score of the hole or quadruple the score on the hole if it is the red ball.
The turn is ended if:
- The player strikes his ball directly in a hole without touching a ball
- A ball does not go into a hole
- A ball returns behind the starting spot.
- The player's cue ball does not strike another ball.
The turn is ended and the player's score is reset to zero if:
- The red ball falls into a hole and the player does use it for his next strike
- Any skittle is knocked over
