Description
For those who wish to re-cover their Snooker or Pool table with new baize, we have an excellent selection of great quality Billiard Table cloth. Our cloth is all sourced from the leading British brand of Billiard Cloth, West of England by Strachan. All our Billiard Table cloth is 100% wool.
The West of England 777 billiard table cloth is a good value quality napped baize for smaller tables. Strachan quality at a cost-effective price.
The Strachan WOE 777 cloth should be suitable for non-competition Pool tables and smaller tables of all sorts. It will also work well for those wishing to re-cover an antique table such as a Bar Billiards table or an old English Bagatelle game. Do not use the standard Snooker/Pool cuts below for Bar Billiards and Bagatelle – follow the links for our recommended cloth cuts.
Important – Snooker and Pool tables are measured differently. The length of a snooker table is the length of its bed i.e. its playing surface. The length of a Pool table is generally the whole table including the cushion rails. e.g. A 7 foot Pool table therefore usually has a playing surface of significantly less than 7 foot.
The 777 cloth weighs 28oz per yard. It is a slightly less durable and slightly faster than the 6811 Pool cloth. The finish (nap) of the cloth is more subtle than the 6811 Pool cloth . We would tend to recommend the 777 cloth for smaller home tables and the 6811 Pool cloth for smaller tables in clubs, pubs and schools etc.
Important: If you are seeking napless (American style fast) Pool cloth, English style 6811 cloth and 777 cloth will not suit you. Please see our Superpro Worsted Napless Pool table Cloth.
Please note that the shiny side of the cloth is the playing surface and the “woolly” side is the under surface. Additionally, the playing surface is napped and runs very smoothly in one direction if you run your hand down it.
Over the years, many of our customers have managed to successfully fit cloth to a table but we would recommend consulting professional fitters if in any doubt. In particular, the cloth arrives folded and experienced fitters are able to remove the creases by brushing (in the direction of the nap) and ironing (with a heavy billiard table iron). Please note that once the cloth has been stretched and installed around a billiard slate, it is not resellable and so returns cannot be accepted.
