The Go Masters Starter Go Set is ideal for newcomers to the game and comprises good quality components at an affordable price. The dual sided board – with both a full size 19 x 19 and a scaled down 13 x 13 layout – allows for steady progression up to a full size game.
The board is made from plywood and is a very good size for play (45 x 42cm) and a nice thickness. It’s therefore a good, cost-effective alternative to the more expensive wooden boards on the market. Likewise, the plastic stones are approximately 8.5mm thick with a 22mm diameter and are fine quality for most people’s purposes – especially beginner and casual players.
This Starter Go Set will provide you with the platform to learn and improve your game until you are ready to upgrade and spend a bit more on a solid wooden board and glass or clamshell and slate stones.
