Metal pipe – post for Aunt Sally

Description

There is no standard type of Aunt Sally post and they can be made from sturdy wood (square or round cross-section) or any other material. We have found in the past that a standard 3/4 inch metal gas pipe from a DIY store makes an ideal post – but make sure that the internal diameter is not too small for the swivel to fit into. Cut to a length of 3 foot, 6 inches and bury the first foot in the ground. Note that if the ground is quite soft, you may need to bury a slightly longer post more deeply.
